Eat natural and feel better
In the E version of the European Journal on Clinical Nutrition a report was published on the 11th of February which concluded that : “Even short-term consumption of a paleolithic type diet improves blood pressure and glucose tolerance, decreases insulin secretion, increases insulin sensitivity and improves lipid profiles without weight loss in healthy sedentary humans.â€
What is fantastic about this short study is that it shows that a simple change of lifestyle away from starches and sugars improves general health even when there is no weight loss. This is really interesting because there has been an argument by the “low calorie/high starch brigade†that the key issue with improving health is reducing calories and thereby reducing weight but this study proves yet again that this simplistic approach to human bio-chemisty is wrong. Our bodies actually improve when we simply return to our natural diet and the inch and weight loss side affects are evidence of your body responding well to your natural diet.
